After Al Gore, I thought the Nobel Prize couldn't because any more transparently political or any more worthless, but today they've outdone themselves by awarding the 2009 Peace Prize to Barack Obama. The Nobel Committee said the award
The prize has been given out for work on environmental concerns (Al Gore, Wangari Maathai of Kenya), Economics (Muhammad Yunus for fostering micro credits), negotiation and ending conflict (Martti Ahtisaari). President Obama-talked.
The award to Obama is part of a long-term devaluation of the Peace Prize—Al Gore? Global warming is bad, but it's not violent. We can have global sustainable environmental policies and still have war. Yasir Arafat? That worked out well.
